So how was that winter long run? Pretty nice weather I imagine?

How did you guys do?

I finished in second place with a 3:46.  I was pretty happy with that, especially considering I beat last year's time by 20 minutes.  It was actually pretty nice this year.  I was able to run the whole thing in shorts comfortably. 
There were parts of the trails that the snow had melted from, but for the most part it was still snow covered.  There were also some new obstacles that weren't in place last year.  Some strategically placed snow fences and excavations made it into kind of a 50 km steeplechase.  I got held up by one train for a minute or so, but it was actually kind of a nice break.  Another train probably enabled me to finish second instead of third as I just beat it coming out of the last aid station and the guy behind me didn't make it in time.
Overall I was really encouraged by my time.  I felt as sore afterwards as last year and I'm not really walking normally today yet.  A good swim tomorrow morning and hopefully all will be well again.

Nice job as always Brendan!  i dont plan on running that far, well ... ever!

I don't plan on running that far again anytime soon.  I tend to forget easily though, so by next week I may change my mind. 
Only 363 days left until Frozen Ass 2011!!!
